Water and health – how are they related?
Our body is composed of 70% water which is the most important fluid in our body. Even the blood in our body is made of water. All parts of our body need water to run efficiently. Our muscles, skin and our organs require water. Water is also useful in transporting oxygen and nutrients to parts of body where they are required, along with removing waste from the body through bodily functions of elimination.
What is Dehydration?
Our body actually loses about 2.5 liters of water on a regular basis through body functions. These functions include urination, respiration and perspiration. If you are particularly active, then you will lose even more water. Thirst actually is a very obvious sign of dehydration and signals that you need water urgently. Your body gets dehydrated before the feeling of thirst is stimulated.
In mild dehydration, you may have chronic pain in joints and muscles, along with constipation and headaches. If you are not getting enough water, your urine will be yellow or amber with a strong odor.

The lower range refers to acidity while the higher range is alkaline. American’s bodies are generally acidic because of their dietary patterns.
