Change Your Acid / Alkaline Balance with the h2o You imbibe: What the Experts Say
In health areas there has been much talk about acid /alkaline imbalance. Let’s see if we can clarify how experts recommend we rectify this imbalance.
The answer
Your body functions at it’s peak when balanced between too acid nor too alkaline. Unfortunately almost all of us have become too acidic due to diet, drinks and stress — both psychological and from pollution. Acids can build up in our body, causing systems to be out of balance.
The effects
According to Dr. Stefan Kuprowsky, “Acid wastes build up in the body in the form of cholesterol, gallstones, kidney stones, arterial plaque, urates, phosphates and sulfates. These acidic waste products are the direct cause of untimely aging and the onset of chronic disease.”
When this occurs, the body will restore its optimal pH by depleting certain minerals, such as potassium, calcium and magnesium, from organs and bones. In addition, your immune system may become fatigued from dealing with an excess of acid. Your body then stores acidic wastes in ‘hiding places’ such as muscles etc. rather than releasing the acids into the bloodstream.
As Dr.Robert Atkins, the well-known author, health and diet expert, notes: “Just about every condition I can think of, from arthritis to diabetes to cancer, is associated with acidity.”
“The countless names of illnesses do not really matter. What does matter is that they all come from the same root cause…too much tissue acid waste in the body!” Theodore A. Baroody, ND, Ph.D.
What can we do?
A vast body of research reveals that you can help negate acid build-up in the blood and maintain a balanced pH, by taking some simple steps, such as:
– Exercise
– Avoiding highly acid-forming food and drink
– Drinking the right water
What is the “right” water?
“International studies show that populations with little or no history of illness, such as cancer, drink higher pH (alkaline) waters. After all potential risk factors were considered and factored out, it became evident that they had been drinking waters with a pH of 9.0 to 10.0.” Dr. Leonard Horowitz in “Aids and Ebola”
Alkaline ionized water “first came to notice in Japan, where researchers noted that people drinking water… Read the rest of this entry »

Water Use in Gout Treatment – it Dissolves More Uric Acid
Just about anyone who suffers from gout knows that they should be drinking a lot of water every day. I will come on to why in a moment but first, for any gout sufferer who does not know the basics, here they are.
A natural gout remedy, as with all gout treatments, requires the reduction of uric acid levels. The normal clinical target is a serum (blood) level of 6 mg/dL for men, less for women. Reducing uric acid to these levels often dissolves the MSU crystals which are mainly formed from uric acid. (The immune system’s reaction to these crystals is the immediate cause of pain and inflammation). Drugs such as Allopurinol (generic name) are xanthine oxidase inhibitors — Allopurinol inhibits the enzyme which is needed for a major part of the process of converting purines into uric acid in the liver, and so less uric acid is produced. Drugs such as Probenecid (generic name) and Sulfinpyrazone (generic name) aid its excretion.
Therefore, the ”trick” in curing gout is to remove uric acid. However, there are other natural ways of assisting the removal of uric acid, and just about the most popular, to judge from views of online polls I have seen, is drinking water. How does water work? Simply because a hydrated body will dilute uric acid and diluted uric acid is more likely to be excreted. This is the first reason why water use in gout treatment is so important.
Will any water do? Yes, but some kinds are better than others are. Hard water is better than soft water because it contains… Read the rest of this entry »

Acid Alkaline Confusion? Put an End to It!
One big acid alkaline confusion!
Today there is an abundance of information on:
• Acid vs. Alkaline food
• Acid and Alkaline forming food
• Acidic and Alkaline ash
All 3 mean different things and have created enough confusion to start an eye rolling contests between naturopaths and allopaths when the topic is raised.
Many doctors will tell you that there is no such thing as acid and alkaline forming food. They might inform you that your body keeps a close watch on the pH of your blood with very intelligent systems in place. This is usually where the discussion with your physician will end.
Then you go to your naturopath, who might tell you something like: “Your diet is very acidic, and is contributing to your condition”.
Now you are confused, as your doctor just told you that that’s a lot of nonsense!… Read the rest of this entry »

Acid Water – a non-Toxic Cleaning Agent
In February 2009, the National News reported that, the Sheraton Delfina located in Santa Monica, California started using acid water instead of chemicals to clean their hotel rooms. The acid water is electrolyzed with low-voltage electricity creating a powerful and non-toxic cleaning agent. The water ions are converted into sodium hydroxide; which becomes hypochlorous acid and is another name for acid water. Acid water degrease and cleans like a detergent. The switch to acid water created more than $3,500 a month in savings, for the hotel, in cleaning chemicals; and provided an unquantifiable savings in their staffâ health. The maids no longer have to deal with harsh fumes and peeling skin much of which was caused by the chemicals. A house keeper with the hotel, Flor Corona said, “I didn’t believe in it at first because it didn’t have foam or any scent. But I can tell you it works. My rooms are clean.”
Upon testing many scientists assert that acid water is powerful enough to kill anthrax spores, without harming people or the environment. Professor Hen Con Hung, a professor of food-science at the University of Georgia- Griffin, who has been researching electrolyzed water for more than a decade said, (acid water) is ten times more effective in killing bacteria and….
