First, its a water ionizer which does filter the water. As for not having the right type of faucet, you can do one of two things. Get a new faucet or purchase a T-connector from the company where you can connect it directly to your cold water. Hope this helps.

Thank You so much, this was most helpful. I do have a question, are you supposed to turn the unit off at the back when not in use, or does it always stay on and ready? I was just thinking of saving the light.

I personally never turn mine off, but that doesn't mean you can't and that it won't help to do what you want to do. You can always contact the company and see what their recommendation is. We use ours all the time during the day, so it would be a hassle if we turned the switch off, but I guess you could do it at night when it isn't being used much and when your out of town. Hope this helps

Is it blinking purple and red. If so, all it needs is to be cleaned. Just turn the water to the machine and press any button and it will go through its cleaning cycle and then revert to the button you pushed. Then just press the same button again and it will go off. If it is not purple and red, then yes, I'd call the company. Hope this helps
